The Rise and Fall of St Giles in the Fields and Seven Dials.
From the site of a 12C royal Monastery and Leper Hospital, to a 19C slum of the utmost deprivation and where prisoners en route to the Tyburn gallows halted for “one for the road”, to our modern C21 area of chic restaurants, theatres and independent shops selling us items we didn’t know we wanted! And nearby in Tin Pan Alley-Denmark Street, the Rolling Stones, Sir Elton John and Genesis made their early 1960’s recordings… walk through many layers of history, finishing in a modern local Pub!
Come and share the vibe.
Meeting details: 10.45 am - Tottenham Court Road Station at Exit 3 (where the light show takes place).
Cost £10 includes the audio headsets.
